Scott is the primary advisor in our Durham regional office and lives in the area with his wife and two sons. He is an active member of various community associations.

Jason Begg, CFP, CHS, is a Certified Financial Planner, an active member of Advocis, a qualifying member of the Million Dollar Round Table (MDRT) and the Financial Advisors Association of Canada.
Jason has grown his practice in the Peterborough area through his confident and individualized focus to help clients through financial decisions and setting lasting goals. His planning approach helps ensure his clients develop and understand their financial objectives and apply the discipline needed to achieve them. His advice is based on thorough wealth planning rooted in the principles of long-term investing. Jason is a well credentialed advisor specializing in wealth management and client-centric financial planning.
Jason grew up in a successful family business and continues that experience on his own. He is frequently recognized for his ability to communicate financial plans in a way that helps clients easily understand. Jason is active in several community associations. He has three young daughters and lives with his wife in the Peterborough area. They enjoy family time, youth sports and participating in outdoor activities.

JAYMES WINCH

Jaymes brings 35 years of experience and knowledge in the insurance industry to Park Place Financial. He is a Chartered Life Underwriter and Certified Health Insurance Specialist and has been a member of Advocis, The Financial Advisors Association of Canada his entire career.
Jaymes works with new business clients and provides continuous communication with existing clients. He supports the advisors and their clients’ development and implementation of tax-deferred, risk management strategies.
Jaymes is an active member of the Rotary Club of Peterborough – Kawartha and enjoys living in Peterborough with his wife Paula. They have two children.

MATT HOWELL, CHS

Matt is a Group, Life and Disability Consultant and holds the Certified Health Insurance Specialist (CHS) designation and looks to help small business owners protect themselves, their families and their employees' families from lifestyle-threatening risks.
Before merging with Peak Benefits Solutions, Matt founded Howell Financial Corp in 2018, after having more than 20 years of experience as a small business owner. Prior to being in financial services, Matt spent 12 years growing 3 successful, local restaurant franchises.
Matt is no stranger to financial services, having spent 10 years as an advisor with Freedom 55 and Riley Financial Group where he cared for a client base of over 500 homes and 80 businesses.
A big believer in generosity, Matt supports the Trillium Gift of Life Network.
As a proud father Matt sits on the board of the Children's Safety Village.
As an engaged Financial Advisor, Matt is a director in the local chapter of Advocis, an association promoting advisor professionalism since 1906.
As a concerned small business owner Matt is an active member in 5 local Chambers of Commerce in and around the greater Quinte area.
Originally from the Bancroft area, Matt moved to Belleville in 1990 to attend Loyalist College and never left. Matt is the proud father of Donovan, future lawyer/NFL superstar, and Emily, future veterinarian/Mayor of Belleville.
Matt collects guitars and likes to fish the Bay of Quinte.

Having worked at some of the largest financial institutions across Canada, he has assisted thousands of Canadians in the areas of investments, business, pensions, insurance, estates, tax, and financial planning strategies. James holds the designations of CFP® (Certified Financial Planner), CIM® (Chartered Investment Manager) and EPC (Elder Planner Counsellor).

Greg joined Park Place Financial as the first Investment Representatives when they moved into the Kingston market in 2021. Having worked in finance since 2015, as a Director at Freedom 55, Greg had many years of experience leading a team of advisors to develop their skills and business growth. He was excited to be a part of the founding Park Place team in the region as he could see how the companies values aligned with his own in approaching everything with excellence.
Greg has long had a passion for financial planning, as his own life experiences have clearly demonstrated to him the need for a proper and thorough financial plan. He believes that while health is your number one priority, you also need to apply that same importance on financial wellness to ensure a strong and sustainable future.
Originally from Listowel, Greg studied Kinesiology at Western, graduating in 1999. Shortly after he and his wife relocated to Kingston and have called it home since. He is very involved in the community having volunteered as head coach for his son’s hockey team and is also a patient experience advisor at the Regional Cancer Centre of Eastern Ontario and Board Committees of Kingston Health Sciences Centre, where he works to improve patient experience.

A native of Kingston, Ontario, Hunter has been working in the field of finance since 2019. While servicing a wide sector of clients in Eastern Ontario, from individuals, business owners, families and entrepreneurs, his passion lies with designing and enhancing plans to help people achieve their goals.
Initially drawn to the industry by seeing a need for financial education and literacy, Hunter enjoys working with his clients to understand their perspectives and help them through what can sometimes be overwhelming for those new to investment or corporate tax strategies.
A lifetime hockey player, Hunter appreciates the value being part of a team like Park Place brings. He enjoys collaborating with his colleagues across the multiple pillars of the business to best meet the needs of his clients.
When not in the office, Hunter can still be found at the rink or on the golf course.

JASON HICKS

Jason Hicks is joining the Park Place Financial team in the role of Associate Advisor for the Quinte Region. In his previous role at Canada Life, Jason specialized in life insurance, living benefits, critical illness & disability insurance, TFSAs, RRSPs, Mutual Funds and Segregated Funds.
Having grown up in Trent Hills on a family farm, his father instilled a strong work ethic and with his mother working as a nurse at Campbellford Memorial Hospital, he witnessed first-hand the importance of being of service to your community.
While Jason originally studied electrical engineering at Loyalist College, and heavy equipment machinery at Algonquin College, he soon realized that he wanted to be able to provide for others what his parents never had, sound financial advice from an independent advisor.
Jason is passionate about financial literacy and empowering clients to make the best choices for their future, while understanding the financial implications of those decisions.
Jason continues to reside in Trent Hills and volunteers his time coaching Campbellford Minor Hockey.

ZACH BARR

Zach holds undergraduate degrees from Brock and Niagara University where he also gained valuable experience playing varsity rugby. Both on the field and in the office, Zach enjoys being part of a team. In his role of Associate Advisor Zach is committed to helping families, individuals and business owners work toward their financial goals. He takes great pride in building genuine relationships with his clients.
After working in the independent school system for a period of time, Zach moved into the financial services industry. He initially worked with a large Canadian Insurance and Investment company, then transitioned to a private brokerage where he further developed his knowledge base and gained experience in working with high net worth clients. Zach’s background in education has helped him teach and guide clients as they navigate their financial worlds.
Zach and his wife live just outside of Peterborough with their 2 young sons.

ROB MCDONALD

Rob McDonald is an Associate Advisor at Park Place Financial. Having grown up on a dairy farm in Warkworth, Rob now owns a small farm outside of Douro, with his wife and three young children. Following 18 years of service as a police constable, Rob is now following a life-long passion for financial planning that started when he was just 14 years old and gifted 4 Disney shares.
His goal as an advisor is to support families with financial planning to ensure smooth life transitions. In addition to his passion for supporting farm families with succession planning, and first responders with retirement needs, as someone with a special needs child he also understands the importance of proper financial planning to secure family futures.
Rob graduated from the Sir Sandford Fleming Police Foundations program in 2001, and completed his BAA in Justice Studies from Guelph/Humber in 2011. He has served as a member on the Board of Directors for the New Canadians Centre since 2019 and volunteers in a variety of capacities across the community.
